Pin-Back Button Collection
See some of the buttons from the Robert DiSpirito Sr. Collection on display in the Reference Room on the first floor of Bailey Library. Buttons were first patented in 1896 and became a popular way to campaign and advertise. In the 1960's, they became a fashionable way to promote favorite bands, artists, and causes. For further information on buttons, find a copy of the Price Guide to Collectible Pin-Back Buttons 1896-1986 by Ted Hake and Russ King. (Thanks to Kevin McLatchy/Archives for information for this display.)
