I recently talked with my son who lives in Shanghai, China, and he was telling me about the proliferation of Christmas decorations around the city. He says that it's markedly different from the last time he was in China in December (4 years ago). He went to a shop near his apartment last week and everyone who was working was wearing a Santa cap...and a man at the door wearing a full Santa suit was welcoming customers. Not quite what I expected to hear. I guess our commercialism may be one of our biggest exports.
