Strangely Hypnotic...

Slow Wave is a site that features 4-panel cartoons of dreams submitted by readers. Jesse Reklaw is the artist. A librarian expresses her subconscious desires in this one... but they are all fascinating.

Thanks for reintroducing me to Reklaw's work. He has published a collection of some of the best strips and, like you said, it is fascinating.

He also put together a short zine called Applicant, which consisted of 1960s head shots of applicants to grad school along with quotes from their professors letter of recommendation. Often times sexist, rude, or just plain bizarre, it is hilarious reading. Reklaw found the files in the trash at a prestigious university and couldn't let them go to waste.

No, thank you! I think you told me about the 4-panel site first, but I always thought it was named Dreams (for obvious reasons). I want to read Applicant -- it sounds terrific -- I wonder if I can interlibrary loan it? I'm going to try.
